West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson has extended the consultation period for his Police and Crime Plan – giving people extra time to have their say on their policing priorities.

Almost 1,000 people have already taken part but the Commissioner wants as many as possible to have the opportunity to comment.

The original July 18 deadline has now been extended to July 29.

By law, every Commissioner has to produce a Police and Crime Plan that sets out priorities and will be the basis for how they hold the Chief Constable and the police force to account.

This plan will set the direction for policing and community safety over the Commissioner’s term of office and the “Your Police Your Priorities” consultation aims to get people involved.

David Jamieson said: “I want to hear from as many people as possible about their priorities and what they want to see happen in their area and across our region to make the West Midlands safer and more prosperous – that is why I have extended the consultation.”

Paper copies of the survey are also available. Call 0121 626 6060 for more information.
