Freedom of Information Act

The Freedon of Information Act 2000 gives the public a general right of access to recorded information held by the West Midlands Office for Policing and Crime (WMOPC), subject to certain conditions and exemptions contained in the Act. Someone making a request for information to the PCC is entitled:

  • To be informed in writing whether WMOPC holds the information of the description specified in the request; and
  • If WMOPC holds the information to have that information communicated to them

Requests for information must:

  • Be received in writing
  • State the name of the applicant
  • Include an address for correspondence
  • Describe the information requested

Electronic requests are acceptable.  Either write to the Police and Crime Commissioner (Lloyd House, Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham, B4 6NQ) or use the electronic contact form on this website.
