*UPDATE Further Extension to Enterprising for Employment Applications*

The OPCC has been in receipt of queries from organisations concerning completing the written applications for this bid in light of the COVID-19 crisis. Specifically some organisations are struggling with Questions 1 and 2 of the submission because of complications that social distancing guidelines have placed on their organisations and operations. The OPCC is aware that organisation’s answers to Question 1 of the application are likely to have changed since we advertised for bids. This is because new models will need to be developed to facilitate delivery in the current climate where face to face contact is not possible. Secondly we are aware that some organisations have had to furlough staff, which means that the way they approach Question 2 of the application has had to be re-evaluated.

These are exceptional circumstances we are living through. We are therefore allowing an extension to the current deadline so that organisations who are currently writing their bids have time to re-evaluate their applications in light of how they will mobilise their models in the current climate.

New timelines are as follows:

Written submission deadline: 29th of May at noon

Applicants will be told of their outcome and invited to interview no later than: 15th of June

Interviews will be held on: 22nd of June and will likely take place over skype

*Update to timescales in light of COVID-19*

The Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner wants to commission an Enterprising for Employment service for Birmingham. This initiative will provide a personalised, effective mentoring service for individuals associated with criminality, to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be employable and/or an entrepreneur. This will be a grant funded project due to the pilot nature of the project.

Applicants are asked to read the grant specification and then fill in and return the application form. The closing date for written applications is noon on the 3rd of April. Successful applicants will then be expected to attend an interview. Interviews will take place on the 15th of April at Lloyd House in the centre of Birmingham. After this, a provider will be selected. Notification of interviews will be sent out no later than 5pm on the 10th of April.

The total grant value is £200,000 for a 24 month period.

Please send all written submissions to Brendan Warner-Southwell on the following email:
