Salary and expenses information

The Police and Crime Commissioner receives pay and allowances.  


The Police and Crime Commissioner's salary is set by the Home Secretary, following advice from the Senior Salaries Review board.  Their 2011 report on Police and Crime Commissioner pay is available for download.  

The salary for the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner is set by the Home Secretary at £100,000 per year.


The Police and Crime Commissioner may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the exercise of their functions, which are of the kinds and amounts determined by the Home Secretary.  Follow the link to the Home Office website for more information.

The published information details claims made by the Police and Crime Commissioner personally to reimburse expenditure incurred in their roles.  Train travel and accommodation outside of the West Midlands for the Commissioner is arranged through the West Midlands Office for Policing and Crime.  This is procured through a travel management company used by West Midlands Police and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner having been selected through an open procurement competition.  Reimbursements and expenses are paid in accordance with the determination made by the Home Secretary (see "related links").
