Bob Jones names Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Bob Jones has named
Nechells councillor Yvonne Mosquito as his Deputy West Midlands
Police and Crime Commissioner.
Speaking about the proposed appointment, Bob said,
"I'm delighted to name Yvonne as my Deputy. She brings a
wealth of experience as a councillor, police authority member and
community campaigner, and has worked for many years in the
voluntary and statutory sectors, including at national level.
We share a deep respect for the traditions of British
policing. We want to see community priorities reflected in
policing, and ensure that the public receives a courteous, fair and
effective service, with prompt feedback. Yvonne, being from
Birmingham, balances my Black Country background, and we have
complementary skills, attributes and characteristics".
Yvonne said, "It is a huge honour to have been asked by Bob to
fulfil this important role at a time when policing faces
significant financial challenges. I'm personally committed to
ensuring that policing meets the needs of all those that live and
work in the West Midlands."
Yvonne will attend a confirmatory hearing on Monday 26 November
2012 before the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel. The
Panel will make a recommendation as to the proposed appointment,
only after which can the appointment be confirmed.
