Christmas Message from Bob and Yvonne to West Midlands Police Officers and Staff

Christmas message from the Police and Crime Commissioner

Bob Yvonne black backgroundLooking back over 2013, it has been a challenging year for the Force, both professionally and financially.  In July, there were massive demands from Operations Glendale and Clockface.  The service rose to those challenges and was particularly successful in strengthening our partnerships with the community.

During the year the force has managed to get the upward pressure on crime back under control and has continued to out-perform comparable areas.  We have seen tremendous levels of professionalism and we would like to pay tribute to the developments in areas such as 5CI and Shared Services where there has been great innovation and adaptability.

There will be further challenges in the year ahead but I believe that recruitment, the ending of A19, and the support of IIP will give enhanced support as we move forward.

On behalf of the people of the West Midlands, we would like to congratulate and thank all of the dedicated staff, committed officers, special constables and PCSOs who work collectively to serve our community.  We have a great Force of which we are proud, and we wish you and your families a happy Christmas and healthy New Year, with particular thanks to those who will be on duty over the holidays.
