Joint Audit Committee
The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 has created
legally separate corporations sole in the Office of the West
Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner and the Office of the Chief
Constable of West Midlands Police.
Financial governance, assurance, risk management and statutory
financial duties for both the Office of the Police and Crime
Commissioner and the Office of the Chief Constable will be the
responsibility of a Joint Audit Committee, as required by the Home
Office Financial Management Code of Practice. The Joint Audit
Committee comprises the four Non-Executive Members of the Strategic Policing and
Crime Board and an independent chair.
The Joint Audit Committee meets quarterly in public (dates here)
and all are welcome to attend. Agendas, minutes and reports,
sorted by year, are published here.
