Reason for Authority (Brief Summary for Publication)
#POWERS | We will be using Section 60 powers in the Heath Town area of Wolverhampton this evening and overnight following a serious assault earlier today. This afternoon, we were called to reports of disorder off Wolverhampton Road in Heath Town. Two men received stab wounds and were taken to hospital.  A 17-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They remain in custody for questioning. The powers were put into place from 7.00pm today and will run until 7.00am tomorrow morning (Thurs). Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds. As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe. Find out more about Stop and Search Why we use stop and search | West Midlands Police. If you have any information on crime involving weapons contact us on Live Chat on our website or call 101. In an emergency dial 999.
