Writing to other Police and Crime Commissioners, Mr Jamieson said:
“Over the weekend a horrific incident took place in Birmingham city centre which left many people injured and tragically one young man dying.
“I want to say thank you for the support that your force gave in providing extra assistance in Birmingham in support West Midlands Police and help provide significant police presence to help reassure the public.
“It is at times of great difficulty that we can rely on each other to provide help and support and I appreciate the assistance your force provided over the weekend”.
