Joint statement from Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Cllr Yvonne Mosquito on Sir Albert Bore standing down as Leader of Birmingham City Council,

“Sir Albert has been a giant of Birmingham politics. Since the 1980s he has helped to transform Birmingham from a city downtrodden by from the loss of traditional industries to the open, modern, world city it is today. He has been Mr Economic Development for the city and no-one can doubt his drive or passion.

“We wish Sir Albert success in the next chapter of his life and thank him for all the work he has done for Birmingham and the West Midlands.

“Sir Albert has always put Birmingham first and we look forward to working closely with his successor on the Combined Authority, community safety and economic development when the new leader is elected in December.”
