With the joy of Christmas and festivities upon us, I wish to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to all those many people in the West Midlands Police Force who have worked so hard during 2019 doing all they can to provide an outstanding service and thereby ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our people in the West Midlands.

I include all police officers, staff, PCSOs and volunteers who work around the clock to keep the public safe every day of the year.

I appreciate that 2019 has been an extremely challenging year, particularly with the rise in violent crime and all the challenges that has brought all of us.

Christmas is an extremely precious time to us all and I am fully aware many of you will be working on Christmas Day and over the Christmas period. Therefore may I personally thank many of you for your dedication and commitment to keeping us all safe during this period and offer my extreme gratitude for your continued commitment.

May I wish you all, together with your friends and families a very happy Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year!
