The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner has given his backing to Birmingham’s bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The PCC David Jamieson said:

“Birmingham hosting the Commonwealth Games will help to unite communities and bring the whole of the West Midlands together.

“I wholeheartedly back the bid and call on the Government to back it too.

“Hosting the Commonwealth Games will bring huge benefits to the region that will stretch across the region from Coventry to the Black Country and everywhere in between.”
