Police and Crime Commissioner’s reaction to the budget – a missed opportunity

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson’s reaction to today’s budget,

“The budget was a missed opportunity, with no new funding for policing.

“This will be a disappointment to people in the West Midlands – who have seen their police force hit five times harder than leafy Surrey.

“Crime is not falling and the emerging threats that we face are far more complex and require more intensive investigations. This should have been recognised in the Chancellor’s spring budget.”
