“They gave their present for our future” – West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson today paid tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.

The UK was falling silent today at 11am as part of Armistice Day commemorations and services will continue on Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

David Jamieson was attending services in Sandwell and Solihull to pay his respects. His Assistant Police and Crime Commissioners, Judy Foster and Ashley Bertie were attending events in Dudley and Coventry and Wolverhampton respectively.

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson said: “Our war heroes gave their present for our future.

“We must never forget them and the ultimate sacrifice they paid for our freedom.

“The West Midlands always pays its respects on Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday and I am honoured and humbled to attend these important events.

“We will remember them.”
