Victims of domestic violence and abuse will now be able to access all available support services within Dudley by dialling one number.
The number which is 01384 455411 launches on Friday (26 February) and gives those who need help a direct line to a range of support services offered by providers.
Following a successful bid for funding from the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), CHADD domestic abuse services have worked in partnership with Sandwell Women’s Aid to develop this new service.
The number will also be open to victim’s families and professionals and will help people get to the right service as easily as possible as and when support is needed.
The single point of access is in line with Safelives Standards and West Midlands Domestic Violence and Abuse Standards.
Police and Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson, said:
“I am funding this project so victims of domestic violence and abuse in Dudley have got a single point of access to the services they need.
“This is an important step that will help victims get the support they need.”
Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for community safety, said:
“This is a fantastic step forward for domestic abuse services in the borough and gives better and easier access to support for victims and their families.
“By working together and sharing resources, we can be more confident about getting things right for anyone having to access domestic violence and abuse services.”
Nikki Penniston, Sandwell Women’s Aid, said:
“We are so excited to be launching the Single Point of Contact in Dudley in partnership with CHADD.
“In working together we can strengthen existing specialist services in supporting victims of abuse and their families.
“The SPOC ensures seamless and robust referral pathways, leading to effective, safety-led intervention.”

“Our exciting partnership with SWA has enabled the launch of SPOC benefiting the Dudley borough to have one number that is a pathway into the range of our joint services.
“SPOC will provide early interventions, speedy response times, safety plans, safe accommodation and services to enable a person’s recovery, moving towards a life free from abuse”.
Domestic violence and abuse services can be accessed through the single point of contact on 01384 455411. Cases of domestic abuse can be reported using the police non-emergency number 101 or in an emergency dial 999
