West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Councillor Yvonne Mosquito have sent out the following message ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27:

David Jamieson said: “Every day in the West Midlands we are fortunate that we are able to live in vibrant communities where tolerance prevails.

Holocaust Memorial Day is an important day for reflection as we remember those who suffered and were persecuted.

Holocaust Memorial Day is about remembering those who were killed and those who survived, but also saying no to prejudice in all its forms today.

That message is as important today as it ever has been. We all must learn from the past to strengthen our future.

We want to thank people from across the West Midlands for marking Holocaust Memorial Day. It is important that we keep those memories alive, but even more important that we learn from them.”
