The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said: “The death of Her Majesty the Queen is a day of immense sadness. It is truly the end of an era.

“Queen Elizabeth ll dedicated her life to public service and to the people and communities of our country.

“Her Majesty was a symbol of stability in an ever changing world. Her place in history, as our longest reigning monarch of 70 years, is assured.

“I pledge that West Midlands Police will ensure people in our region are able to mourn. That people and communities can come together. That her passing will be marked with the grace, dignity and respect that she is entitled to.”
