The Home Office has announced that Police and Crime Commissioners can bid for up to £3 million of funding to tackle the behaviour of domestic abuse perpetrators and reduce the harm caused to victims and their family through their Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Fund 2021. The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner is inviting organisations to submit proposals to deliver a perpetrator intervention in the region designed to challenge and change the behaviour of perpetrators, safeguard victims and children and prevent future victims.

We are looking to partner with providers who have capacity to mobilise and start delivery of the project within the West Midlands by 1st August 2021and will have the relevant partnership arrangements in place.

The PCC will be the lead partner for any bids submitted. Bids can be for between £200,000 – £1,000,000 for 8 months of delivery and can be made up of multiple elements but must address at least one of the following focuses of which funding has been made available to address:

known issues in relation to DA offending

child and adolescent perpetrators of abuse behaviour

        perpetrators of stalking

The Home Office funding period will be for 8 months, from 1st August 2021 – 31st March 2022. There is a requirement for 4 months match funding from 1st April 2022 – 31st July 2022, proportionate to the bid value to enable interventions to be delivered for 12 months. However, this can be in kind and could take the form of a financial contribution, staff time or volunteer time.
